This is the  required course to obtain your New York State Pistol Permit.

The 18 hr. Pistol Permit Safety Class is presented in cooperation with ArmsWise, LLC, a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder. It is conducted over two days. Each day runs from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Register for the NYS required course with a professional, experienced team.

As per NY law concealed carry firearm safety training must include 16 hours of in-person live classroom instruction and 2 hours of live fire.

Day 1 will be held at the Voorheesville Rod & Gun Club (VRGC) located at 52 Foundry Rd, Voorheesville, NY 12186.

Day 2 resumes at 8:00 am at VRGC. After lunch, the live fire class and evaluations will be held at the Albany County Pistol Club's indoor range.

• Effects of drugs and alcohol
• Proper interaction with law enforcement
• Sensitive and Restricted areas
• Use of deadly force and duty to retreat / NY Article 35
• Suicide prevention / recognizing the signs
• Principles of marksmanship
• Fundamentals of shooting
• Dry fire and live fire exercises (firearm, ammunition, eye and ear protection will be provided)
• Written test

Tuition & Fees
The class is $275. There are no other fees. All equipment for the 'live fire' curriculum is provided and included in your basic tuition of $275.
